Western Mindanao State University’s College of Teacher Education (WMSU CTE) Graduate School convened its annual General Assembly on January 25, 2025, at the CTE Social Hall. The event, attended by graduate students, faculty, GSA officers, CHED officials, and professors, served as a platform to present accomplishments, financial updates, and to elect and induct new officers. More importantly, it set the tone for the new academic year, inspiring students to lead with purpose, embrace innovation, and foster meaningful connections.
The assembly commenced with a warm welcome from Ms. Janet Paster, GSA President, followed by an uplifting message from Sir Arnel, who underscored the value of staying young at heart, mind, and soul. Expressing gratitude, he acknowledged the dedication of the GSA officers, professors, instructors, and contributors of The Chronicle, the official GSA publication.
A key highlight of the gathering was the introduction of the new CTE Graduate School Clerk, Mr. Albinmar Andas. Shortly after, Ed.D student Mr. Keir Balas formally introduced the keynote speaker, Dr. Joe-An G. Cuaresma of CHED RO9. Dr. Cuaresma’s speech resonated with the audience as she expounded on the themes of leadership with purpose, the necessity of innovation in education, and the power of professional connections.
The assembly also served as a moment of transition, with Mr. Junette Buslon, CTE-GSA Vice President, presenting the outgoing officers' accomplishment report, followed by Ms. Jezza Mae Francisco, CTE-GSA Treasurer, who detailed the financial statement. These reports highlighted the organization's achievements and financial standing, setting a foundation for future initiatives.
The
much-anticipated election of new officers followed, with Mr. Junette Buslon
elected as President, Mr. Daniel Cabugsa as Vice President, and Mr. Alprince
King Biri as Secretary. The official induction was led by Dr. Ricardo A.
